UPDATE – from Monday, March 30, 2020; @ 3:00 p.m.
Buckeye Central Parents & Families
As per Governor DeWine's updated order, Ohio schools will now be CLOSED through Friday, May 1, 2020. Of course, this includes Buckeye Central Local Schools (K-12). This closure includes ALL school activities and spring sports as of this time. We are awaiting an update from the Ohio High School Athletic Association regarding spring sports based upon the newest order. We will be in touch with the community as soon as we receive guidelines from the OHSAA. Our buildings will be closed to the public during this required closure.
We have been anticipating this extended closure :-(.... the staff will continue to meet (electronically) this week to review our educational programming going forward. Our plan remains to provide on-line or instructional packet learning [dependent on grade level and/or Internet access]. The learning is intended as critical review and enhancement of grade level or course concepts.
As units are developed, your child’s school and/or teachers will continue to be in touch via email, district website, OneCall, Schoology, Google Classroom, etc. Assuming that students may eventually need to pick up materials due to the extension, we will be considering carefully scheduled times for pick-up. Specific information will be made available through your child’s school. For the remainder of this week, we ask that all students remain in contact with their teachers as scheduled.
We will continue to provide box lunches/breakfasts to families with interest or need. This schedule is listed on the website.
Thank you for everything you've done to-date to keep education in the forefront for the students. These past weeks have been an example of working together in the best interest of the students! #BC_Pride
