I hope this letter finds your family safe and well! The past few months have been filled with uncertainty and incredible change for everyone. The intent of this communication is to inform and to marginalize any worry or concerns you may harbor. Here are a few important things to know regarding upcoming events:
High School Grade Reports
If there are any lingering questions about how 4th quarter grades will be calculated, please consult the BC Grading Guidelines for the 4th Quarter on the homepage of the district website. Here is an overview:
No student may fail unless they do not complete a majority of the work assigned. If a majority of work is completed, the student will receive no grade lower than the average of the first three 9 weeks grades (year-long class), ex. B, B, C = no lower than B; A, A, B = no lower than A, etc. or third quarter grade (2nd semester class).
Returning/Picking Up Items at the MS/HS Entrance
We have cleaned out the school student lockers, placed student belongings in a heavy duty paper grocery bag, and labeled each with the student name. These items, as well as other miscellaneous items will be available for pick up on May 15th - 22nd at the MS/HS entrance. At the same time, we need students to return their textbooks, band instruments, and if all online work is complete, their Chromebooks (including the Chromebook case/bag and charger). Please email Dr. Martin to arrange another time for drop off if your child needs their computer beyond the scheduled day to return items.
Here is the drop-off/pick up schedule for the middle school:
Friday, May 15th Grades 12 10:00 am-Noon or 2:00 pm-4:00 pm
Wednesday, May 20th Grade 11 8:00 am-10:00 am or Noon-2:00 pm
Thursday, May 21st Grade 10 10:00 am-Noon or 2:00-4:00 pm
Friday, May 22nd Grade 9 10:00 am-Noon or 2:00-4:00 pm
Families may use the visitor parking in front of the MS/HS and one parent or one student per family may enter the MS/HS entrance to drop off and then pick up items.
At any point if there are 10 individuals inside, we will ask any remaining visitors to wait outside on the designated spots spaced six feet apart.
The student or parent will turn in student textbooks in the area earmarked for that grade level.
The student or parent will then take to the band room any instrument being returned.
Next, the student or parent will drop off in the High School Computer Lab the student Chromebook, case, and charger.
Finally, the student or parent will return to the MS/HS entrance and pick up the bag(s) with their belongings along with any art pieces or academic awards.
We ask that students and parents visit only the designated areas. The building is being cleaned and is not conducive to travel. Feel free to wear protective gear such as a mask and/or gloves. Thank you.
